I recently took my vehicle to Allen's Wrench in San Marcos. They came highly recommended by several friends, and now I understand why. They've earned a stellar reputation through honest service, top-notch workmanship, fair pricing, and treating customers with respect. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional. It's refreshing to find a repair shop you can trust. If you're looking for an honest, dependable mechanic in North County, I highly recommend Allen's Wrench. I believe they specialize in Honda, Toyota and Mazda, but I get the impression they're able to repair or service most vehicles.
My family has been going here for 20 years. They have good prices and are reliable. I recently went in for an issue with my Honda stalling and they were able to get me in the next day and quickly figured out the problem. Turns out I had a dirty throttle body that was sticking closed and causing my car to stall. They said it was a quick and easy fix and that they test drove my car to make sure that everything was good. Thank you again for the great service!
I can’t say enough good things about Allen’s Wrench. I came in after another mechanic in Oceanside messed up a basic oil change and left me dealing with an oil leak. These guys diagnosed and fixed it within minutes—and didn’t even charge me. That level of honesty and integrity is rare. It’s clear why they have such great reviews. They’re dependable, straightforward, and genuinely care about not taking advantage of their customers. Even though it’s a bit of a drive for me, they’ve absolutely earned my trust and my business going forward. On top of that, the shop is clean, the waiting area is comfortable, and they even have outdoor patio seating with free WiFi. Overall, just a great experience from start to finish. You really can’t go wrong bringing your car here. Thank you so much!!!
Allen's Wrench was cited as the go to place for all things Mazda Miata via online discussion/forum groups. Let me start by saying these guys are the real deal. Excellent people, Excellent service. I brought my Miata in for the timing belt replacement. The shop was able to complete this arduous task in one day. Amazing. The price charged for this level of repair was very reasonable. And...I did the old "check under the hood when I get home" inspection and the work was exemplary: no loose covers or attachments, no grease or spill marks, everything exactly as it looked when I brought it in. That's an A++ in my book! Dealerships don't have this level of attention to detail! If you want your car fixed correctly using the right parts at a very reasonable rate, and a friendly, honest team, come straight here. Thanks fellas! 👍
After another disappointing and costly experience at my local Honda service dealership, I finally decided to find a better alternative for my 2015 Honda Fit. By great luck aftervperusing other reviews, I found Allen's Wrench. I called on a Friday, and explained the cold start screech sound my car had been making to Kyle, and he said come on in and we'll take a look, so I did. A hands-on review of my car, and a understandable and logical (layman terms) explanation of the issue was given. I immediately felt comfortable with the shop. It was determined that it was either the drive belt or the starter. He recommended recording the sound and bringing it back next week, or leaving the car overnight, so they could hear the cold start screech. He added a bit of lubricant to the belt, and over the weekend, I did notice the sound wasn't as loud, so I decided to have the belt replaced. I called on Monday, and once again, they didn't hesitate fitting me in that day. Meanwhile, a rock had hit my windshield over the weekend, and I noticed the glaring crack in the windshield as I drove to their shop. Ugh! No worries though, because they recommended a glass repair company. I called the glass repair, and they worked directly with AW while my car was at the shop, so I was got the windshield fixed too. I cannot say enough glowing things about AW. Honesty? Check! Integrity? Check! Fairly priced? Check. Provides above and beyond customer service to their customers? Check! Check! I feel like a won the car repair lottery finding them.
